It’s Greek to Me! HireAbility parses Greek CVs
That’s Greek to me or It’s (all) Greek to me is an idiom in English, expressing that something is not understandable. The origins of this expression are not really known. It has been posed that it may have been a direct translation of a similar phrase in Latin: “Graecum est; non legitur” (“it is Greek, [therefore] it cannot be read”). This phrase was increasingly used by monk scribes in the Middle Ages, as knowledge of the Greek alphabet and language was dwindling among those who were copying manuscripts in monastic libraries.
Regardless of the true origin of this expression our world-class resume/CV and job order parsing software ALEX can no longer claim ignorance! Indeed, HireAbility has just added the Greek language to our ever increasing list of supported languages. This brings our full parsing language support to over 35 languages and dialects worldwide.
ALEX now fully supports parsing in English, Chinese, Dutch, German, French, Canadian French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, Danish, Russian and Ukrainian, Polish, Czech, Slovak and Greek, along with many ‘flavors’ and dialects. In addition you do not need to specify in what language your resume is written. ALEX is ‘smart’ enough to figure it out. ALEX also supports multiple languages and locales in the same document. Currently we are working on Hebrew which will give ALEX the ability to work with right-to-left languages!
