Job Summary:
No departments fall under this position. There is a system wide responsibility for the service line. Corporate service lines share a common budget.
The main function of this position is to develop, implement, administer and monitor the successful performance of a Health System service line. This position has primary responsibility for the successful achievement of all service line quality, financial, and satisfaction goals. This position ensures service line planning, consistency across the health system as appropriate, integration among physicians, coordination among departments, and marketing of service line related services across the continuum. This position works collaboratively with the Service Line physician leadership, the service line stakeholders, and Health System leadership to achieve strategic goals. This position serves as the primary contact for the community, medical staff, and referring physicians relative to services and program development.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Employs strategies to strengthen Health System's position in the market and build brand loyalty utilizing program financial and marketing data.
Works with departmental leaders to develop and monitor annual operating and capital budget for the Service Line.
Identifies performance improvement activities, developing metrics that reflect clinical outcomes, customer satisfaction, financial, market and operational performance throughout the health systems service line.
Recruits physicians and promotes physician alignment with Health System, creating opportunities for collaboration in services
Facilitates and organizes community events related to service line screening and awareness
Develops/implements educational offerings in service line topics for physicians, healthcare providers, patients, and community
Provides support and direction for service line product line team's conferences and committees
Works with Service Line Team and Operating Board in development and implementation of strategic, business, and marketing plans
Maintains professional competence and educational growth through affiliations with professional organizations. Demonstrates leadership and analytical skills relative to service line services
Ensures regulatory requirements related to the delivery of services (e.g., JCAHO, EMTALA, American College of Surgeons, Virginia Department of Health) and develops methodologies to review and ensure compliance
Performs other duties as assigned
Other Functions:
The Service Line Director of the Women's Health Center is directly responsible for the day to day management and accountability of the following service line initiatives:
Development and ongoing activities of the Operating Boards
Development/ implementation and ongoing oversight of key product lines and teams
Development and ongoing activities for community outreach including but not limited to the Spirit of Women and Heart Caring initiatives including marketing.
Development and ongoing maintenance of a Women's Resource Center
Development and ongoing monitoring with improvement of key clinical quality outcomes.
Development, implementation and monitoring of key adjunct women's services.
Develop and implementation of a consolidated approach to Women's Health services
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Nursing, health related field or business
Minimum of three (3) years of decision making management experience handling all aspects of a service line development, implementation and operation, preferably in healthcare services
Demonstrates competence in program development, marketing, sales, project management, client relations, program outcomes and evaluation performance improvement
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Prior experience building collaborative stakeholder relations
Demonstrated effective organizational, planning, negotiating, coaching, and conceptual thinking skills
