Sr. Solaris/Unix Administrator – Columbus, OH – Local ONLY!

. Minimum of 7 years Solaris Sys Admin experience required
. Must have Solaris 10 experience
. Must have excellent communication skills
. Must be a Permanent Resident or US Citizen
Education / Experience
. BS Degree in Computer Science is strongly preferred, but will consider years of experience and proven skills
. 7+ years experience installing and maintaining Solaris operating systems hardware and software.
. 7+ years experience installing and maintaining Veritas volume manager and Cluster Server.
. A working knowledge of client/server relationships, personal computer hardware, storage area networks, local area networks, and cabling topologies.
. Programming experience with UNIX shell and/or Perl
. Must be able to work independently and prioritize work load
. Prefer certification in Solaris, HP-UX System Administration, Sun Cluster or Veritas
. Preferred Technical Skills are Solaris 10 D Trace, Solaris 10 ZFS, Solaris Cluster, AIX 5L, Symantec Netbackup 6.x
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
. Qualified candidates will have proven experience implementing, configuring, tuning, and maintaining UNIX-based servers. You will install, upgrade, and configure UNIX-based operating systems including Solaris 10, HP-UX and AIX
. Monitor system performance and perform problem determination for all hardware and software. Perform capacity planning.
. Create and update documentation on the installation of UNIX systems software and hardware configurations.
. Provide basic tech support and training to staff on the use of operating system utilities and third party software.
. Provide assistance in the planning of client/server projects from assessment through design and implementation.
. Ensure systems are built and maintained according to security standards.
. Ensure disaster recovery procedures are maintained.
